DFA 150-450mm needs repair

I would like recommendations for a reputable repair center in the US for my DFA 150-450mm lens. The entire outer housing (for lack of a better word) came off yesterday! Never dropped, never abused...WOW! Thanks in advance.

See here for a full list of well-known repair centers:

Pentax Repair Facilities (Wordwide listing) - PentaxForums.com

For a lens this expensive, I would recommend just going with Precision, which is the official Pentax repair facility in the US, and the only one authorized to perform warranty work. See below:

I'd like to see what that looks like. I have that lens and it's hard for me to imagine based on the description.

It would almost certainly still be under warranty. You need to deal with Precision.

Absolutely no indication or sign of a problem. I am baffled, and more than a little upset.

Wow I had to send mine in for getting jammed and not retracting past 180mm, looking inside your lens has helped me work out how the internals work. I am sure it will be back in your hands soon taking lots of great photos

I had to come back and look again

it is a sight I hope I never see personally

the only problem I have had with mine is that I damaged the tripod foot where it attaches to the lens, sheared a part of the actual attachment but it still works well.

[ haven't found any replacements for the tripod foot, do they exist ?? ]
