Stiff zoom on manual focus lens

Lens is a two-touch manual focus zoom lens, non-Pentax, non Pentax mount.
Lens is like new but zoom is stiff and erratic. I suspect it may need lubrication.

It is a good quality lens and worth repairing, but I don't want to spend a lot.
FWIW I did email Eric Hendrickson but he said he will be unable to repair it.

Seeking recommendation for an inexpensive repairer, amateur or professional.

Drop @dcshooter a line and see if he can do it. He specialises in doing colour customisation of existing lenses and CLA as part of the bargain. Depending on what it is, he may be willing to give the repair a shot.

Also, try using a lens a little bit. I had a Pentax 35-105mm which took a solid day's worth of use to stop being stiff, after being nearly impossible to zoom with when I received it.
