Need help diagnosing a wonky K3
Recently got my K3 back from Precision (broken inner aperture lever, some damage to mount due to a tumble off a hotel bed with a Bigma attached). Sent the camera out at the beginning of June, received it back end of the month - they had to wait on parts.
Anyhow, they replaced the aperture motor assembly and mount, and everything seemed fine up until this weekend, although in truth, I've only used it like a handful of times since I got it back. Saturday seemed fine, took some pictures on Rainy Lake, but yesterday at Seeley Lake, the camera couldn't change aperture (stuck wide open) and the mode dial is being a bit flaky, most modes are now showing up as manual, even when set to a different setting (Av, Sv, etc), but sometimes it's correct. The camera is trying to meter at the set aperture, so everything is overexposed, and I can hear the lever trying to do something, but the DoF preview does nothing.
Since the drop and return, I've babied it, and can't think of any moisture or drops that could've fouled it up, always in a camera bag.
I don't know what to do with it, contacted Precision, as I'm hoping they have an idea and/or warranty on service repairs. Part of me thinks that if something is going to fail (the new motor), it's going to do it fairly soon, just wondering if stuck fine open is a common symptom of that type of failure
