kudo's to pentax

A few weeks ago I removed the filter window on my DA* 300mm F4 for a CPL I was using. In trying to remount the hood the thin plastic that is left when the window is removed snapped. This is the 2nd time this has happened, the first time I returned the B&H.
Of course this one was well past the 90 days, but under a year.
I got Pentax on the phone and he said he'd look into something that would fit if not the original.
Next day it was at my door. Granted not the same model but it snapped into place fine.
This one has a Tulip front and no filter window, Both I see as a plus. Impressive response from Pentax, But who would think that was more than a one time deal.
Well After spending 3 hrs shooting last week I found the Battery terminal cover < little rubber thing> was gone. An additional 2 hrs in the rain searching roughly 5 acres of grass for it to no avail.
Again I spoke with Pentax, and again he would see what he could find, since they don't actually sell that item.
And sure enough, today it was on my doorstep.
I was scared to death to put my faith in Precision Repair, after all the reads I have had about them.
But Pentax number I called the gentleman was great, caring, and got the parts I needed straight away.
Kudos the Pentax.

Would you care to share the number you called? That is very good service from Pentax. And is the same I received when I lost the battery grip cover on my k-5 a few years ago. Emailed Pentax, who said they don't sell them but would see what they could do. Never heard another word from them but a package showed up on my door a week later with a new rubber cover.

Back in the day I used to just write to Minolta USA and they would send me for free the easily lost cable socket caps and such.

Good job, Bruce.

I assume Randall is long gone. All that guy ever did for my issues was blame Japan for not telling him anything
