Mirror stuck up, shutter stays closed

Hi.

I am having a rather annoying problem:
since new year's eve the mirror on my Pentax K30 (firmware 1.06) is staying up, and also the shutter is permanently closed.

I have tried to take out the battery (including leaving it out over night), swapping lenses (kit lens, sigma70-300mm, and manual 28/50mm lenses) nothing helped

anyone had this problem before - or has any idea if there is a fix for this without taking it in for repairs?

For a while ,you could find these bodies cheap. But now that everyone knows how to fix them all bets are off. In your case the gears inside of the shutter block have skipped a couple of notches.. So there is no easy fix. would cost bout $ 225 . or so

thanks for the replies. this is something I'd rather not do myself, so i am sending it in for repairs (or rather to get a price for repairs first )
