Precision Camera -- shout out!!

I would like to give a shout out to Precision Camera.. I sent in my in warranty K-1 Mark II for a back focus issue.. It took a few days to get on the bench but then it was quickly addressed. My concern was that it does require a signature and with the upcoming Labor Day Holiday I was going to be away and did not want it sent back to the depot. They very kindly offered free overnight shipping so I could have it for the holiday trip.. wow. that is outstanding customer service.

My only interaction with precision has also been positive. Last year my camera's mode dial broke as I was planning to relocate. So I shipped it from the old address and they returned it to my new address, and round trip is was under two weeks.

They have also done an excellent job when I have dealt with them.

I recently sent my 18-270 to have the front lens group replaced ( since you can't by it from Pentax or Tamron ) and it only took 2 weeks.

Amazingly quick service. The sd card on my K-70 was not locking in place. Precision Camera serviced it and shipped it out to me the very day they received it.

More unfortunate is that they sent me back the wrong lens, and now I am waiting for them to send me my lens. It seems to be taking longer than it should.

good news is that I have not had a problem working through their menu and talking to a real person ( 3 times ) at this number:

unpleasant news: they are shipping my HD Pentax-D FA* 70-200mm F2.8 ED DC AW to the factory in Japan before giving me an estimate for repair costs

they tell me that I will not have to pay shipping from Japan only from Conn.

This is what happened with me. I don't know if they repair lenses in Connecticut, or only send them to Japan?

contacted Precision yesterday, ( 10/ 17/18 ) they haven't shipped my lens to Japan yet, they are checking on why

contacted Precision again today, 10/22/18, despite requests for updates by customer service to the " people who know " no response to the requests are noted in my file, all they can tell me is that they will check again,


I am starting to change my opinion about them
