Wacked my 16-85. Now won't focus

Woops. Camera slipped out of my hands. Lens hit stone kitchen countertop. Now it wont focus or even try. Other non screwdrive lenses work fine. Sounds like a screwd up DC motor.
I'm in LA. Any suggestions of repair shops?
Thanks
Ed

Will it manual focus? That is, is there something wrong with the motor, or something impeding the focus motion?

Is the lens barrel bent/cocked?

Could be anything broken inside.

You could try Picture Perfect in Chatsworth. They used to be an authorized Pentax repair center. They may still be for out of warranty repair. If you find out let us know so it can be added to the list of repair centers.

They do not take walk-in service so you have to mail the lens in. Odds are they'll end up sending it to Precision which end up sending the lens to Japan.

Thanks guys for the replies. The motor will not work and I can only zoom down to 35mm and then it is stuck and will not go any further to 16mm. Also, will not manual focus.

Does it rattle if you shake it? That is, are there loose parts inside. The 16-85 is prone to screws coming loose. However, it sounds like you have done significant damage, so off to the repair shop with it.

Great lens by the way.
