Pentax K20D - Broken bottom cover

Good morning to all,
I own a Pentax K20D with a broken bottom cover (after a fall ); the camera works perfectly, so I decided to change the part.
Can anyone suggest me an on-line store to find the piece?
I searched a bit around, without great results.

Thanks a lot for your time and sorry to disturb.

Regards,
Gianluca

You might be best to search for a dead K10D or K20D and use the baseplate from the dead camera.

Regards

Hi seventhdr and thanks for replay.
Yes, I tried to search some dead K20D, without result, but I didn't know about the compatibility between K20D and K10D.
I try to enlarge the research.

Thanks a lot for now!
Regard,
Gianluca

US Camera should have the part, but with a bit of patience and searching, a dead K10D or K20D would likely save you some money. I’ve seen them on eBay “for parts” sell for as little as $35.

Good luck!

Another option would be to add a battery grip to your K20D. They too are weather-sealed and wouldn't let any dust or water enter the broken bottom. That is if the broken part is only on the bottom surface covered by a grip.

The guy that fixes the aperture problems on K30/50 used to sell parts taken from used DSLRs including Pentax. I remember him having the bottom covers for K10D and K20D. His dslrparts.com website seems to be down, but he was on eBay too. PC35Photolab was his ebay name.

Note: the serial number is on the bottom plate.

Hi all and thanks for your interest.
So, USCamera has no K20 parts since some years and, in the while, I'm waiting for some response from some ebay guys.

I'll start to search around K10 cameras and parts.

Thanks&regards,
Gianluca

They're out of stock, but if it helps with your search, they have the part number here: PENTAX K20D DIGITAL SLR CAMERA BOTTOM COVER HOUSING REPAIR PART 77010.0A401
