Dead/hot pixel

I think I have a dead/hot pixel. Could it be dust? If it is indeed dead/hot pixel, what can be done about this? I have a Pentax Ks2, it is still in warranty, shall I send it on for repairs?

That indeed looks like a hot pixel, not dust. Hot pixels are a fact of life and individual ones generally do not warrant a repair (because even if the sensor were replaced, it too might have some hot pixels).

In the fourth tab of the camera's setup menu, there's an option called pixel mapping. This allows the camera to identify hot pixels and correct them in future photos, so that you won't ever see them again.

I think that is not a cold/dead pixel. It seems much too big. In fact, it looks like a pollen grain or a mass of pollen grains. Have you tried to blow it off? It may not dislodge with a puff of air since pollen is often sticky. Best to do a wet cleaning of the sensor. If you are not up to doing a cleaning, try to find a camera shop or somewhere that could do it.
