Nikon F shutter speed dial

Okay, this is not a Pentax repair, but as a long-time Pentaxian I hope some of you good folks may have a suggestion.

I recently scored a classic Nikon F, chrome, leather insert on prism. In good cosmetic condition, considering its age - a few scuffs, two little dents on the prism housing. The shutter sounds good. A little dirt in the viewfinder.

But...the speed markings on the shutter speed dial have worn/flaked off. Since the dial has no stop positions this makes shooting difficult. Any suggestions for a fix? Other than the meter prism! I'd like to keep the cost down, of course!

Many thanks in advance!

Well, there's the hack of finding a picture online of the top of a Nikon F (Nikon F Review ? Jake Horn Photography), printing an image of the dial at 1:1 scale, spraying it with a clear coating and gluing it on.

And then you can pick your own speeds... 1.1,2.3,4,125,14,31,64,123,225,499,998
Or something really strange 🙂
