Issue with aperture

I have a beloved ME Super and I have ran into a small issue. For some reason, I am having a difficult time turning the aperture on my lenses. I discovered the "Diaphragm coupler ring assembly" is very hard to manipulate. I really want this camera repaired but I'm not sure of any repair shops will touch this camera. The meter works and the shutter has never jammed. It was my first film camera over 18 years ago, so it does mean a whole lot to me.

Any ideas?

Since it sounds like a mechanical problem it can probably be repaired unless parts are needed. Try Advance Camera in Oregon, Garry's Camera Repair, KEH or Eric Hendrickson.

wonder if some debris has made its way in the way that would be ideal as a bad spring would need replacement.....maybe some gentle coaxing will get it going again

My first Pentax was an ME Super, back in 1977, I later bought an auto winder model and gave the ME to my daughter. Great camera, hope you get it fixed.

He works from home. I don't think he is a member here. Former Pentax employee.
