I would always end up with left over parts

Small update.
I found an old 12in shutter cable release. Tired it to see it it would work...no luck.

So the summary is

Light meter works.
Shutter speed works.
Film wonder works.
Film advance works.
Blinking red light with shutter works.

The shutter still does not work.....I am getting a quote for repair. If it's too high I'll try to disassemble, and worst case I buy a Ebay one.

Sounds like the mirror box issue I had. I was quoted $100 to $150. I bought another one from eBay...

It could be. A new used one is about the same in eBay. But I figure I'll take it apart first. Just for the fun of it. ....maybe after I obtain a working copy.
