DFA 150-450 Uk repair

I believe the plastic gear ring is worn, sometimes the motor runs but nothing happens.

From what I gather, Ricoh has pulled out of doing repair work so any suggestions are appreciated.

If I can't find a fix, this will be me jumping to Sony.

?

Why, what did Ricoh tell you when you phoned them?

What does 'what I gather' mean, Huxley?

I've contacted Asahi photo as they strike me as a very good service, but I'll contact them if Asahi have no parts.

I've swapped emails with Timothy Kessel at John Pye technical - I asked them to look at my k3, and then over aperture solenoids and data battery. Helpful guy. Just contact them and see what they say.

Just to be sure: you didn't have the focus limiter set, did you?

No, I'm used to using the focus limiter. Plus I had a previous Samsung with the exact same problem.

When I said nothing happens, what I mean is the motor makes a lot of noise but won't focus.
It's obvious when the ring is worn.

It would be useful to know roughly how many shots you've taken with the lens. I'm at only about 600, and it's behaving perfectly.

I can only guess, but reckon my count with this lens would be somewhere north of 50000.

Cheers,
Terry
