The DA300 is a brilliant lens well worth the cost of repairing. I’ve had a new autofocus motor installed in both my DA200 & DA300

it's a good idea to regularly power up the lens to minimize the risk of a full failure.
That's a great suggestion!

After sitting for 6 or 8 months my DA300 autofocus (which previously had been fine) wouldn't work. I tried cleaning the contacts, moving the auto/manual switch, and also switching to live view. At first, in live view the focus would work intermittently but the more I used it the better it got. Eventually I switched back to the viewfinder and, again, at first, it only worked intermittently but eventually it started working reliably.

THANK YOU ALL!! I gave it a try (converting to screw drive)with the help from Blacknigh965 video today. For me having the video made it so easy and even more having my camera do everything it showed in the video. I did it with my K5 and once done worked there and on the K3ii no problem. Again thanks everyone here for the help.

That's good to know. Mine's working at the moment but I have the feeling it may be on the way out...
