Buy some high quality audio stereo cables - they are mostly 3.5mm, so you will need an adapter, too, and maybe a double female connector. Check Best Buy or Ebay. (In the olden days, you just went to Radio Shack - geez I miss those guys!)

After this experience, you might want to look into sourcing premium quality audio jacks and cable and making up your own lead.

How about the water resistant seals, did it seems they survived the repair?
