It would depend on the optical formula of the lens I would imagine. Same formula and maybe the lenses and groups are interchangeable.

It's just depressing, was excited to finally own a DA* lens but when I saw the cracked element my heart sank :P

Oh well, maybe in a couple years.

You could always send it to Precision for a quote. Most likely they'll send it back as beyond economical repair but you never know. They won't go ahead and do the repair or charge your CC unless you give them approval.

Again the decision whether to repair or not would be based on what you paid for the lens & cost of repair vs cost to replace, either new or used.
