DA 35mm f2.4 breakdown

Hi Folks,

Just bought a DA 35mm f2.4 through ebay. I know I shouldn't, but I did. The cost was OK.

I noticed that there is some white flecks in the rear element group between some elements but difficult to see where.
The seller has offered to take it back which is very fair but apart from the flecks it's lovely lens, bright and light and I would like to keep it if possible.
So, has anyone seen this before and or are the rear elements relativly easy to remove, clean and refit?

Thanks in advance.

if those specs were not disclosed in the seller's description, send it back, and ask for a refund....

Best way to go since there is no telling what they are or how they got there.

The rearmost element is a hybrid aspheric lens, so it may be a defect in the element and not removable at all. So do return it and check for another lens, they're not rare. You can also find a 'Wanted Pentax Item' post - good chances somebody got it as a freebee and it's just sitting in a drawer.

I'll be with the others. Return the lens. This is not a costly lens, you can buy a brand new one at 149$, not worth the hassle of keeping a defective used one.

Besides, defects on the rear elements are much more likely to affect image than any on the front element.

Since the seller offered to take it back and give you a refund - send it back.

I would keep looking for one in your price range or maybe purchase new and not have to deal with any problems down the line.
