Issue with the tilt screen on the KP

Hello,

I have an issue with the tilt screen of my KP. When I tilt the screen, even a little bit, it turns black (the camera is still on). When I don't move it, it's working just fine.
The camera is about 2 years old, and I don't use the tilt screen all the time but it's really useful sometimes.

Did it happen to someone else ?
Do you know how much it would cost to repair it ? I know it can change depending on the country, but is closer to 50 € (or $), 100, 200 ... ?
I got nothing on a french forum...

However, could you try figuring out if there are places where you press, turn, move that affects this situation? Possible cable issue.

Yes I tried moving or pressing on the screen, it is probably due to the cable between the body and the screen.

But I don't know if it's easy to fix. I will go to a shop this week to see if they can help me.
The after sale service in France can't say anything before I send the body. I hope that it won't cost 200€ and take 2 months to fix

Looks like the ribbon cable has some bad connection. Is there space to apply some adhesive tape to the connection point on the screen?

This happened to my KP also.
Luckily it was still within warranty, so it was sent back and repaired.
It’s been working fine ever since.

Sadly the warranty is over, so I will have to pay.

150$ is not too much but still expensive, I don't know why they have to change the whole display...

And more than a month for a repair feels like a long time without a camera ! 😰

Likely the technological stuff.

The month ... I way unlucky - I sent my KP for repair about two weeks before the change of the official Pentax servis in Prague (November/December). In December the new service centre started communication with Ricoh representatives about the documentation and possible ways of repair. Pentax equipment is new for them as well.
