Question for Aussie members re CRK

I got a call from CRK on Friday and my DA 20 - 40 is fixed and I'll pick it up on Tuesday. I paid the inspection fee when I left it with them and they have given me a separate quote. Based on the experience of anyone else that has used CRK for repairs - do they deduct the inspection fee from that quoted figure or are they separate charges?

I think this is a minimum charge to cover inspection where the owner subsequently elects not to proceed with the repair. If repair approved, I think this gets absorbed into the quoted repair cost.

I have found them quite good for repairs, but I don't ask for a quote, I just ask them to fix it. SDM replacement they gave me a verbal estimate and I just said go ahead.

And the answer to my original question is.........................the inspection fee gets deducted from the quote. I've just picked the lens up so with a bit of luck I'll get a chance to do a test drive later today. All up the repair cost me $215 so I'm a happy bunny.

How do people find warranty repairs?

I just parcelled up my K-1 II to send down to them, owing to black horizontal lines appearing on the rear screen. No issues with photos, but once I saw the the problem I couldn't unsee it. Not sure how long the issue's been there...last couple of shoots were astro, and it's not terribly obvious on a mostly black screen.
