Ricoh XR-P (KR-30sp/XR-20sp) and light seals

Dear all,

I recently acquired a Ricoh XR-P.
First impression, it's a very nice looking camera with many usable features.
Planning to re-do the light seals, however I'm not certain how they were placed originally.
As far as I can tell they do not cover the entire back side of the camera.
I only see partial seals. Can somebody who ones such a camera check whether the partial light seal is the way to go?
Probably will find out after a roll of film but I'd rather not go that path....

Pictures might help. I’m not sure what you are saying. If you are asking if the seals should go all the way across then I can only say I’ve never seen any model of any camera with a back that opens that didn’t have seals everywhere that was along the line of the opening.

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. I'm going to make sure the new seals will be covering the entire opening.

I’m no expert on repairing old cameras. But my recollection of all film cameras is what I said.
