The flower is an 'Iris germanica'. The photograph is an HDR composite of 3 images taken with various focusing apertures.

Could you describe how you shot this photo, please? So far I have not tried HDR with varying apertures.

Dear Pentageek. Firstly, my apologies for not answering your question some... two years ago! Many things kept me away from this, and other, Forum(a). I took this picture in my house's garden. With a tripod, and varying DOF to increase (or reduce) details around main target: the central pistil and stamens. I also tried to keep shutter speeds above 1/125, to account for any possible movement due to wind; however, that day there was no wind. I took some 8 or 9 exposures, of which I selected the 3 I considered most appropriate for the composition. Post processing was with Lightroom. I hope that since I took this pic you have been able to experience with HDR. Sometimes works out just fine and enhances the photograph. Best. Norberto.
