Brilliant -- multiple frames creating an abstracted view of the city in constant movement -- it feels like a painting, yet a single moment captured with photography. Rather than just containing the image, the frame and glass become active elements and characters. The etched graffiti of hearts with initials is a perfect urban reference, replacing the "tree" in nature where lovers engrave their names into the bark. Distortions of the glass add another layer to the image which looks from the vantage point like it could be a window from a tall building or a train station with arrivals, transfers, and exits. You can feel the photographer himself because, although the composition would have been almost the same, the slightest adjustment in one direction or another would have changed the formations warped by the glass. A quiet meditation amidst the noise of urban life. Mesmerizing...the image invites me to keep looking and thinking. NOMINATED!!!
