Oyster mushroom gills: up close and very personal

I'm fascinated by photographing mushrooms. I find their forms and details beautiful and utterly captivating. From every angle they present endless possibilities to explore form, texture, light and shadow. And then, of course, I sautee them in butter with green onions and serve them over spinach noodles. Anyway, this is an extreme closeup of the gills on the underside of an oyster mushroom cap, which grew in my office and shot in my studio. I love the details, the lovely, sinuous, shapes and abstract quality; yet when you tell someone what it is, they immediately "get it." Hope you all like it!
