Why beat a dead horse - aren't there enough closeups of dandelion clocks on this planet already, you might think. And you'd be even right, I guess.
Yet, somehow I couldn't resist when I spotted this specimen in our garden, in a dapple of light filtering through a bush. Somehow, the lockdown makes you appreciate the simple and common pleasures of life more, I've found. Shooting hand-held with Focus Peaking in LV, I didn't dare to let the shutter speed get too long, given the intermittent wind, which meant that the Auto ISO came up with a highish ISO 2500. But I was pleasantly surprised at how well the image cleaned up in post.
After just a couple of minutes, the remaining dandelion clock was gone, the light substantially changed, and I walked away with that sense of possibly having captured a fleeting moment. It also dawned on me that obviously I had to turn fifty before taking a decent photo of a dandelion clock ...
