That piece 'Downsizing' is very well written… even concluding that one aspect which will surely be criticized (higher weight), should be considered an asset. Meaning the relatively minimal increase in weight; given the resulting increase in format size, and comparative weight with other competitor's FF products, while acknowledging the construction quality and level of technology incorporated into the K-1. A positive marketing effort in this case and excellent work by the engineering / product development team. Nice job Pentax / Ricoh!

Hmmm. I feel like I've been profiled:

- Pentaxian
- Canadian (though I don't think all those descriptors apply to me)
- viola player (third fiddle?)

I haven't seen this one from Spyros Heniadis posted yet, which is basically a feature review, along the line of the ones done by Matt Granger and Tony Northrup. I like his enthusiasm and his knowledge and appreciation of Pentax cameras.

The April issue of the biggest photography magazine in Finland Kameralehti came out today.
To my great surprise there was a full-page Pentax K-1 advert on the back cover of the magazine. And on page 3 one of the biggest Pentax dealers promoting K-1,K-3II, and the new zooms with another full-page advertisement!
Haven´t seen this kind of activity since the 90´s !

Good to see. Was that image shot in Finland do you think? Is the vegetation correct for the area?

Hard to say for sure. The spruce branches would definitely be typical for the area. However, the rest of the scenery looks like late spring or early summer on our latitudes. Therefore I suspect it may be corporate advertising material provided by Pentax.

From a Japanese freelance photographer. He says its up there with his 645Z....
