Pentax K-1 vs K-3 II Side-by-Side Photo

The K-1 isn't that much bigger!

Here's a side-by-side photo, and you can compare the specs below:

Surprisingly small for a FF camera!
I thought this K-1 would be quite a bit larger.
Great job, Pentax (Ricoh).

How does the K-3 compare to the K-5 in size, for those of us still an extra generation behind?

Great job, Pentax.

An equally interesting comparison would be the K-1 beside competing full frame cameras.

Indeed Pentax have through the years maintained a reputation for compactness, and yet, superb ergonomics. Great job done again, this time with the K-1.

Nice, that's really good to know, actually. One of the reasons I wasn't really interested in a full-frame camera is because it would be a lot bigger and heavier, but it seems like that really isn't the case.

Looks a lot bigger to me. Not Canikon big. But noticeable. I find even 5 mm here and there can change the perception of size. This looks a lot more than 5mm. Will have to see one.
Thanks

Pretty similar, a little heavier.

That is so cool, only 100 grams more than a K-3.

My current second body a K-01 - 611 grams.
K-1 925 grams.

2/3 of a pound doesn't make me happy, but, maybe I can leave home some lenses. IF I just leave home the 18-135 and Sigma 8-16. And take the 18-35, 40 XS and FA 50, DA-60-250, the weight should be comparable.

It all depends on if the 18-35, the worst lens I own, is better on the K-1 than the Sigma 8-16 is on the K-3. it's possible. Especially since the fisheye is good a 16 or 17mm. There are lots of possibilities to play with.
