A Perlin

I had never heard of it before, but it is a cross between a Peregrine and a Merlin, and is a great little flyer.

Very painterly! What PP did you use with that one, Matt?
Thanks! It was my fairly standard combo of starting with the LR Punch preset and then boosting shadows and lowering blacks and then I ran it through Color Efex Pro detail extractor which is a nice sharpener if used in moderation.

Have some strobist fun while waiting for the actual model to arrive.
Very pleasing style. Nice to see him in a photo again. Great memories come to life.

Not having LR, I’m unaware of the Punch preset, but I assume from the result that it works on overall contrast and maybe colour saturation, so correct me if I’m wrong please. The detail extractor, again I guess, is about microcontrast, and brings up detail in a hazy distance, which is one of the things I noticed about that shot. Adobe’s de-haze plug-in I find works well for that in their other apps.
