Hillside at Sunrise (DFA 24-70/pixel shift)

For people's interest I uploaded an image processed from a single image from the pixel shift series with exactly the same settings as the first one. The full sizes are available on Flickr. There isn't a big difference between them, but I do think the pixel shift would print bigger.

Eric, all your photos of late are simply fantastic. As volley stated what a luxury to choose from such great shots. I like both shots of the lizard for the exact reasons you stated liking them, so no real preference. Loved your story about the rat snake, been there and did that many times. When I tell folks about that they don't believe me. You did a fine job on capturing that snake one handed.

Been some time since I last posted. Many folks have posted many terrific photos on this forum, very enjoyable to view.
Here are 2 shots for the old Rupert and 2 for the Frederic since to me he is a bit of an unusual bird.

These bottle brush blooms hang straight down, so shooting up at the sky is problematic, unless you have a nice overcast morning like this day was.

Thanks for the kind words Bobby. We've missed your posts. Nice work with that 150-450mm... Hope things settle down for you soon. I also haven't been able to get out and shoot as much lately but am working at smoothing out the craziness in my schedule...

Yes, I was reference to the B&W, very nice images, I just wanted to make a point about modeling light, that is the angle of the light source to the subject and angle of camera / subject so that shadow gradation make the subject look more 3D.

Ah cool yeh, I don't have any modelling lights currently so I shift it manually, chimp or get the client to move a bit lol.

And yes, all my portrait work is pretty much done in Face Detection mode, which we all know is a LIE and is actually Eye Detection in disguise!
