Finally got Astrotrace to work on my Pentax K-1.This is 14 shots stacked for about 4:40 exposure time (450mm, 20sec, f5.6, ISO 1600.) Focus is a little soft and stars are a little oval shaped as they started to streak but here it is. No color correction (still need to figure that out), just basic stretching. Just starting out, so obviously it's not perfect, or close. Thoughts/criticism welcome.

Not bad!! Take more shots and some dark frames. I spent about $60 to get StarTools software for processing. My focus and tracking could be better too. This is how I did it. The K-1ii is about the same as the K-1.

Great Orion nebula (M42) and Running Man nebula (NGC 1977) in Orion.
Pentax K-1ii in crop mode with Pentax HD* 300mm f4, using in camera astrotracer for tracking, 127 10 second light frames, 8 dark frames, ISO 100, f4, stacked with Deep Sky Stacker, processed with StarTools and Photoshop Elements 21.

Went out for what looked like it might be a nice sunset last night. Sunset didn't come together but there were a couple of eagles hanging around in an area I have not seen them before. So I was glad I had the 150-450 in the car. There were two together here but one few away as I was mounting the lens (and flew right over me at about 30'). I managed a get this before this one left too. I saw them return again as I was leaving and it was getting dark.

What a coincidence. I made yesterday "sablés arlésiens" (Arlesian shortbread) with orange zest. A delight !

I found an old Hoya NDX400 while I was sorting out my old filter drawer:

The amount of colour wrangling I had to do to get that image to look passable reveals why I never used the Hoya NDX400 filter much, there is no attenuation of IR so there is a loss of contrast and a weird magenta shift in the lower portion of the image which was horrendous to counter.
