Wow, superb shots. I'm really enjoying the portraits and landscapes so much. I haven't had a chance to shoot landscapes yet since it's been raining practically ever since I got my K-1. The photos in this thread are really making me look forward to it! Wonderful job, everyone!!

Here are a couple recent shots. I'm impressed with how the K-1 handles yellows compared to my previous Pentax's, particularly in this first image, taken with the FA 77. The iris was in the sun and I'm used to the yellow really blowing out. Didn't happen here. I did dial in a -1.3 exposure comp, but even with that I'd struggle to make the yellow look right before.

Got my first K1 Woody this morning! Such a delight to find the Bigma gives me a decent focus fast and furious!
Don't know if anyone has mentioned the colors....they are excellent...Woody reds are always so hard to duplicate but the K1 nailed them!

All handheld 1/160 @ 500mm All crop shot...and then the crops were cropped about 50% of the original crop shot. I could have used a little noise reduction...but they were good enough for me as is!

This one is ISO 5000

The rest ISO 3200

Woodies are neat little birdies, I like them!

Early morning dove...again, the colors are so good on the K1!

1/80 handheld f7.1 ISO 3200 @ 500mm Bigma

What a fun camera!

Regards!

Thanks! Same situation here. No K-1 until June. And there were only 5 (!!!) pcs for the whole country in May.

FA43

That third shot, with the reflections and ripples in the water, is superb.

I have some serious decisionmaking to do in about two hours, go to bed with the wife, or stay up and shoot a few more shots... And no, the combination is out of the question!

Did I already mention that I love this cam? Went out with the FA* 200mm + AFA 1.7, the DA 100mm limited macro, the FA 31mm limited, the Meyer-Görlitz Telemegor 180/5.5.

Exif should be OK on the links, IIRC the dragonfly was shot with the macro, the yellow flowers with the telemegor, the shot of the park with the 31 and the rest with the FA* 200mm + AFA 1.7. Attached a 100% crop of the heron in flight.
AF on the camera is great, BIF is possible even with the above combo. Pics are all out of cam, the FA* + AFA would need more sharpening, I guess there are better tele-solutions out for the K1 although I really like it and I think the results are better than with the DA 55-300 in crop mode.

True. For those of us who have yet to aquire the K-1, it's almost torture. Isn't it awesome, though, to see how much fun so many Pentaxians are having at this particular time? Life is short and this is such a fun way to allot our time...

I can't see vignetting at F2.8...
I don't understand your second question. What is LR and mocing ?

Have any shots to share of the k1 and 14mm combo? If love to see what they can do.
Its been finals week for me so I haven't really had the opportunity to go out and test it yet fully. Ontop of that I just sent in my laptop for some repairs so I won't be able to edit any I take today. Though I should hopefully have some JPEGs to share!

K-1 and D FA 24-70 Total rookie realizing my equipment is much more capable than I am. What a leap from a K-50!

K-1 & Zeiss Distagon T* 2,8/21 ZK

Some wonderful light this morning. Sorry about the bold colours, Flickr images seem bolder than how I finish them in PP. Follow the link to Flickr for a larger view.

Love that burst of red against the green. The lively bokeh adds to the feel of this image. I like it.

Tas: Agreed, lovely light and nice composition. Do you know what that low, military-like structure is? Something left over from WW II??

Kenspo , that beautifull shot, wow
And to all others, you have a marveleous tool. I see some great shoots. Now the protograph in you have to go outside your normal life and experiment.
I wish I have a K-1 but it will come at one time
