I have a bad case of pneumonia and have been on the Forum very little. Don't feel like shooting, posting, or much of anything but sleeping and trying to take all the meds and get better.
I do see you guys are still posting the most excellent of shots and when it seems they can't get any better ...they do!

Maybe I will be back around soon.....this is rough stuff, it could be a while. Meanwhile I did manage to shoot a couple of squirrels for those that are feeling "squirrel deprived".

Hope to recover and be back enjoying this fine thread sooner than later. Meanwhile, I hope someone can take over my responsibility of looking after FS.......I hear that in my absence he has backslid to posting his moon shots again.....so sad, he had been doing so well.

Best Regards!
Rupert
Best wishes for a rapid and complete recovery, Rupert!

Rupert, as one old guy to another old guy, take care. I've had pneumonia three times in life, last time 9 years ago. I followed the doctor's direction, orders to the letter. went to a specialist eventually. The first and last time I had this condition it was real tough. I don't recall much about the first time (I was a year old, parents filled me in ) but the last time, it took a few months to recover completely and I was exhausted, more so than I can recall ever being before in my life.

Although I like doing what I want, with pneumonia I did what I was told, got plenty of rest, etc.

Best wishes and take care of yourself.

Les

Eric,
I agree with your assessment of the color version & B&W of the two heads. Those shots are not complex but I like them.
Patriot,
Like the Oak Creek & Butte shots, of course I like that area & love your compositions.
fs,
Your flower shots as of late are more appealing to me, just my taste of course. By the way, nice meals also
timautin,
Excellent bird shots, I love that lens
Rondec,
Those 2 shots at Patoka lake are beautiful, especially the cloud reflection one. Do you think the pixel shift makes that second shot look more vivid & real, at least that is my thought.
Rupert,
Missed your photos & comments, not too sure about the squirrels, BUT I must say those 2 shots are about the finest shots of your squirrels that I have seen. Must be the meds are helping your vision. You take care now
Best Regards. Bob

A nice old building, disfigured on the ground floor to be sure, but the upper stories are still doing the street proud. A 50 1.2

It is always a treat when they pose for you. Asking nicely works.

Thank you both.

Another pic from Mayo Peace Park in Castlebar. I like this place for sunsets.

Of course some times it is a matter of simply subject, a beautiful example is the Friends shot by acoufap, a special look compared to all the normal flower shots.
Quite often I have said that each of us every day has choices of what to do, ...
Thanks for mentioning, jacobby! Yes we always have a lot of choices. In this case although the phenomenal color the peony(s) offered I decided to go the black & white way. To change ways sometimes lead to special and great experiences and better transport the personal vision. Another picture of the series - another way - and in this composition a lot of room for totally different interpretations ...

K-1 with Rokinon 85mm f1.4

Flowers captured from my garden at first light this morning with Pentax K-1 and Rokinon 85mm f 1.4. This lens captures lots of light because it was still pretty dark when I took these shots.

All four images are worthy, but the first B&W is special, reminiscent of classic view-camera work.

some forest stuff

jva59,
nice shot of an old building, I like the B&W and the contrast of old and new architecture.
derekkite,
good looking bear portraits.
acoufap,
Really like the side view of the Peony , shows the contrast of shapes & color.
rondoudou87,
That first B&W shot is great. A very full composition, even your good frame work has a special effect with at least 4 different types of trees to offer different silhouettes of leafs.

Here are some shots in the woods taken with the DFA 24-70
Best Regards, Bob
