I wouldn't miss it.
Pretty sure the 'focus limiter' on the D-FA is actually just a focus clamp (ie focus lock)? It's ok if using for stacking on a slider. But not as useful as a real focus lock that stops hunting and racking in and out during autofocus.

Main advantage of the D-FA over the WR version is the aperture ring (good for using with extension tubes). The WR of the more modern variant is nice for more general use.

But we are off topic here, either is a great addition to a K-1 and at the reasonably frequently discounted UK price of £250ish, it's a bargain compared to other system's 100mm macros.

Mine's the FA which has Limiter and Clamp.
I've never used the clamp and rarely use the limiter but if I ever put it on some extension tubes I'll be glad of the aperture ring, so maybe I did buy the right one.

Thanks guys! Now I know
By I don't want to hijack this thread here. So I may post a shot of my town here in 12mm
Btw, I will def go for the WR version even if the extension tube argument weights much

Perhaps I can oblige? There isn't anything moving fast, but it meets the other criteria.

A little planet 360 degree stereographic projection made up of 10 images, shot handheld, 1/4s, f/4, ISO 1600 (exposure pushed a further 2.5 stops in PP), in the rain, with my shaved DA 10-17 Fisheye at 10mm. The flare spots are caused by water droplets on the lens.

Lots of noise reduction on the sky, the stitching process wildly exaggerates noise when you do these. I've tweaked the colours to my liking while trying not to clip a bunch of channels. The red on the small pyramid in the foreground suffered a little bit, but I'm after vivid results here. The RAW files have enough latitude for a variety of different adjustments to colour and exposure.

The shots looked like crap on the camera LCD, and I wasn't expecting this to even stitch properly being shot handheld. I left the area feeling disappointed, but in the end I'm very pleased with the result.

Went out walking for 5 hours last night, soaked the K-1 and DA* 55 to the bone, and got some starbursts out of the A 20. More good stuff to come.

I picked up the DA 35mm f/2.4 as a cheap walkaround prime. Its a nice compliment to the DA 50. I brought it along to my nephew's 2nd birthday party and got some good shots.

this is out of cam. 1st one is pixelshift of 31mm + PL filter with an 100% crop attached. 2nd is with the DFA 100mm macro (little movement due to wind). 3rd is pixelshift of DA* 55mm with PL filter. I love the results.

I like the picture myself, it has a certain random pattern to it, despite the ramifications of living there... people chose to live at the base of dormant volcano's, on hurricane prone shorelines, flood prone riverbanks, tornado prone plains, and even move back in after multiple disasters. People are funny that way. Gotta live somewhere
I must not start on why people deny common sense and rebuild in a disaster-prone location, but a large part of it is the "we will not be defeated" syndrome, as if persistence trumped stupidity.

My favorite part of the aerial photo is where the fault goes out to sea to the northwest of what you've shown. In the "before" images I use, there is a recent massive landslide at that point, creating an large inward semi-circle along the steep cliff that drops to sea level. The fault probably softened the already relatively weak bedrock there, creating a high risk zone for mass wasting events. In the the more recent image, houses are built right up to the edge of the precipice caused by the landslide. Houses in a neat semi-circle around the landslide scar making sure every square foot of land is built upon and sold. Owners of those homes could easily throw a stone over the cliff from their back door. Will there be another catastrophic landslide? Wrong question: WHEN will there be another? Probably following an exceptionally wet winter, or alternatively, when the fault "shrugs its shoulders."

Great night shots!

Did you do a lot of perspective coorection ? I would guess so as all the buildings are strikingly at vertical...

Dark and dreary today...only took a few snaps...but they were snaps I would not have even tried in the dim light without the K1.

Handheld 1/200 f7.1 ISO 6400 @ 500mm Bigma 50-500 + K1

I played with in camera noise reduction today...didn't care for it......anyone use it?

Regards!

ISO 6400 never looked so good.

Mock that is a very cool image.

I am finding no fear in letting auto iso find what it wants. It could probably be cleaned up but for most situations it is not needed. New to me FA 77. Who doesn't love cat photos? I do love the rendering.
