That Soligor is just awesome! Too bad you keep losing it or we could see more from it?

What is that birdie? His beak is so strange, like made to crack open clam shells? Very good shot of him for certain!

You tie a string to that Soligor to keep up with it ......or send it to me for safekeeping! I'll send it back to you when needed....you can count on old Rupert!

An early morning Jay keeping squirrels away from the Cheater Branch sap spout.

I've about stopped using the Crop Mode and just crop in processing. I think it is better that way, but it could just be in my mind...? My mind is a little strange at times, you know!

It may have been a stone fish. It was in a tank with a "lump fish" - - even better camouflaged, uglier (depending on what you consider ugly), and probably closely related, but I did not see a label to identify the fish in the picture.
Better looking than Blob fish.

Stunning . . . almost too much beauty to take in, in single images. Keep up the great work. I have not used zoom lenses very often, but your work with the 24-70 could be a mind changer!
Thanks a lot for your appreciation! I'm glad that you like them. When I started with photography a few years ago, I used a single prime lens for almost a year. Then I got several more primes I think they really make you a more disciplined photographer, as you need to work more for every single shot without the convenience of a zoom. However, I've discovered that a zoom can save you a lot of time when traveling... if photography is not the primary objective of the trip, people tend to get impatient when you stop to change lenses all the time, or you can miss some shots while doing so. A zoom could offer a compromise... trade-off a bit of image quality (and maybe aperture) but you get the shot. Considering the quality of the 24-70, maybe it's not such a big deal.

Few more with the 24-70 (for some reason the third one got explored):

I'm gonna make it easy on myself and second that rather than go into a long comment as usual....although I will say I think the Soligor misfired on that 2nd shot, or it could have been user error.....you know FS is still learning this stuff!

He just showed up outside my windows on my deck umbrella and I got a quick snap. A young Titmouse and he is struggling at learning to fly. I have several adults around here but they are so jittery I seldom get a chance at a shot.

Regards!
