I like the whole set, even if you did play with a texture plug-in on the last one.
Looks like it was supposed to be like shooting through muslin? Cool!

Nice example of the Irix. I am sorely tempted the more I see posts from it like yours & Frederic's.

Question - Is the Firefly the same glass, just in a lighter non weather resistant barrel, or is there other differences? I'd prefer the lighter package, if optics are same. (and the lighter price of course)

Here is a web after a heavy dew, on the second shot it looks like the spider hung up his Christmas lights. While walking in the woods spotted a chipmunk about 40 feet away, took this shot then attempted to get closer, yep he was gone. He is a bit of a fuzzy creature due to lack of focus but I really like the setting with the 2 different logs & the moss, if I had nailed the focus it would have been a good photo. Oh well, I am still having fun & I will keep trying.
Went to visit a very good friend who lives near me, took the photo from the slope above his home looking directly east.
Best Regards, Bob
Thanks Bob!

That second web, and the last shot from your friends property are really nice wall hangars. I always marvel and the symmetry found in nature, like webs from orb weavers and the like.

Have you started printing anything from your K-1 yet? I've done a few, and I once I got my new monitor, and did a closed loop calibration, I think the prints are just a joy to see. I wish I had room for more on my walls. So, I settle for doing photo-books, got a few on the shelf now, and also do a rolling slide show on my 60" plasma TV when I have company for atmosphere, heh.

I have really enjoyed following this series immensely! Great body of work, you could easily do a Cuba travel book, just need to fill in some text of your trip.

Always enjoy your work Vincent, it has such a tranquil quality about it. This set is no exception.

TriStar might like a picture of that white horse if you got a little closer and had him coming out of the fog, but they might try to add wings to it, and that would ruin everything.

This is my newest lens and there's no polarizer on it, but some of the images are pixel shifted.

I lost my lens hood on one of the early treks into the woods and I probably lost some images because i didn't have a polarizer. All my images taken after walking up to a popular ridge were ruined by flare. Sometimes, no polarizer and no lens hood = no images.

I have had my K-1 for about a week now and I am deliriously happy. The high ISO performance! The dynamic range! People (not here) told me I was crazy to sell all of my Nikon gear to buy a camera to use with <$50 antique glass from ebay, but I think I made the right call.

K-1 with a Promaster (Tamron) EDO LD 70-300. ISO 1600, F8, 1/180s.

FF mode, Sbh.

According to Photozone, it vignettes *less* wide open than the FA 50 or FA 31.

A Jun Hirakawa design, a beautiful portrait lens on APS-C becomes a beautiful standard lens on the K-1. You should save up for one if you aren't getting the DFA 50 when it launches!
Thanks, I didn't know that. I do have the 55 and I love it on my K-5iis. My best lens. Back then when I got the K-1, I made a quick test against a white wall from 2m distance and it had dark corners. Haven't used it on the K-1 since then. Maybe I should try again and compare it to my FA43. I thought I might sell these two and get the upcoming DFA 50mm to replace these two!?

Spend marginally more and collect the antique Pentax lenses. Many of them will reward you greatly. The M42 lenses are very pleasing.

For sure. I've got a growing pile of Super Takumars and Soviet glass. The Promaster/Tamron holds its own very well against the Super Tak 200 f4 when it's stopped down, though. When I decided to post the photo, I couldn't remember if I'd taken it with the Tammy, the Tak 200, or the Takumar-F 70-210... I had to look at the exif

Some Canonists laugh at me because I switched from Canon to Pentax K-1. I do not really mind, I love the Pentax k-1, indeed. They argue that there is no such enough HD Pentax lenses. Well, the 15-30/2.8, 24-70/2.8, 70-200/2.8, 28-105 are stellars without talking about prime lenses (DFA50 and FA100 macro, 31, 77, 43...). Anyway, you do not need to buy all lenses to get on with the best FF OVF IBIS/SR DSLR camera ever made, do you? Your choice is the best one..
