still an inspiring thread this one with some excellent shots to admire. Thank you for the feedback and comments, I'll continue to bore you for a bit with the MX shots as I have a few of them.

MX is an exciting style of racing if you ever get to capture any. And unlike road racing you can typically get closer and take advantage of what is likely to be the best Pentax lens for this style of photography, the D-FA* 70-200mm. This is another capture with the 70-200 but aimed at making use of a slower shutter speed to create a look that enhances the sense of speed. With the K-1 I find around 1/160s yields good results as a compromise between enhancing the sense of motion (typically best when slower than 1/100s however the light can be problematic without a filter) and not dropping to a terrible keeper rate. The straights are boring but this is fastest they travel so it is easier to get the look I was seeking. Of course being easier doesn't make it better so I set up in the braking area for turn 1 as this would give me the potential to capture a more dynamic shot as the bumps forced the rear wheel off the ground. I hope I got to capture that but may not have, will post one if I do.

Got this one last summer when I was on holidays but always was too lazy to edit it!...

Not entirely sure what lens I used, but seeing that it's been taken at 135mm I'd say it's my Super Varexon 135/2.8. It's 4x 5s exposures.

Thunderstorm was fairly substantial, the rain it brought too. Could barely see anything anymore! Needless to say that I took my gear off the balcony (had it perched on the parapet on a gorilla pod, with me clinging onto the strap).
Went to enjoy a gin down at the bar. I got that nice excited feeling you usually know from being a kid when something is going on!

Grand Prismatic Spring at Yellowstone. Stitched together from three images made at 28mm with my K1 an D FA 28-105mm lens. Needs a little work, bit this is not too bad. This shot from July 2016 when I went there with two of my sons.

Needed to have the 150-450 on instead of the 70-200, but you take what you get. I also needed to have taken the camera out if AF-S, but well...I forgot.

Been a bit busy lately moving into a new phase of my career, so have not posted for far too long. Rainbow Lorikeet from my back yard with Sigma 500 f4.5 APO DG EX and Sigma 1.4x TC, and a pair on a perch - a male Scarlet Myzomela and a Silvereye on Mt Coot-tha in Brisbane, taken with Pentax 150-450. Both taken in Queensland, Australia.

Ta mate. This is at the Tivoli track in Chuwar just north of Ipswich in Queensland. I spoke to one of the locals, and found out the property used to be the home of Motorcycling Queensland who still own the track. There's info on the track via Moreton District Motocross MDMX.org.au, however apparently this race was the last or one of the last to be raced there as the track is being sold off. It's a shame to lose the track, but there's money to be made I guess and with more homes encroaching on the track closure would realistically be just a matter of time.

Closure of the track is a shame, it's a good spot only 20mins from home for me and no doubt those who rode there regularly will be needing to travel for over an hour to get to another track like this. the replacement track will eventually be located at Willowbank on the south side of Ipswich and with any luck it will be just as good.
