I've been away with work for the last 4 months so it's finally nice to get back home and taking photos again.

Hermitage Falls in Scotland, can't wait to revisit this location in Autumn.

Nice photograph. My wife's grandfather was a Canadian Bush pilot...later a commercial passenger plane pilot and among the many planes he flew was a Junkers Ju 52/1m, which looks similar to the plane in your picture. In Canada this plane was called the flying boxcar and used by the company he flew for back then, for flying in mining equipment, supplies, and equipment and supplies to isolated Canadian communities.

My first try at a composite image. One shot for the foreground with light painting, another for the sky with astrotracer on. Combined in Topaz Remask.

Excellent. I wouldn't mind a bit more info about this shot if you have time to spare. I've rarely attempted Astro stuff so would like to gain some further knowledge.

1) When you say 'light painting' are you shining a torch onto the rocks or something, and keeping the shutter open for how long?

2) What settings did you have for the stars?

3) And lastly, I too am a Topaz kinda guy, tho I don't have Remask. What is remask's main feature/benefit? (I have Clarity, B&W Effects, Adjust 5, Simplify and Clean 3).

------

I took some pics of a friends kid's party last Friday at a Roller Skating Rink, pretty tricky conditions, I soon learned that trying to be successful with the Samyang 85/1.4 in virtually the dark was really hit or miss. I'm glad I took the DA40/2,8 XS with me for backup (AF shots)

All shots WO.
The 1st and 3rd shot have some JPEG's blown out Red's. I tried different export setting in Lr but couldnt really master the red's unless using some way larger files.
