I'll go with your personal taste. I like how the water has texture. I've done the smooth water and found it unsatisfying, and have been thinking of other approaches. A very fast shutter captures the water as is without movement on one extreme, but long shutter speed turns a noisy coarse scene into something it isn't; smooth and quiet.

This lens is so cool, better than an old style lens, portable and easy to manage unlike the DFA 50 1.4. Good for someone who wants better than legacy glass, but isn't up for the cost or inconvenience of the DA* 50 1.4 Excellent instead of best in class.

I've had this cheap Russian Zenitar lens for at least a decade. Only now on the K-1 does it finally get to be what it was designed for: a serviceable fisheye, instead of just a wide lens with half-hearted barrel distortion, as I was used to on APS-C. These are in the Chicago Public Library.
