Thank you, Walter. There are many castles around there, of course, some in better repair than others, but all picturesque.

I was just checking and think I was mistaken - that must be the same "Schloss" that we could see from our hotel in Wurzburg. I'd have to dig out the chromes as I think I took one picture of it. I was very spare with photography back then as both the cost of the film and the problems transporting many rolls made me hesitate to take more than half a dozen shots per day.

I can relate to that, having travelled often with rolls of unprocessed film in x-ray proof bags. It certainly made me slow down and look hard at the subject, a habit that’s only been slightly altered with digital cameras.

It took me quite a while to get over the notion that there were only five 36 exposure rolls left in the bag, and five days of vacation to go. Not it's eight postage-stamp cards that can hold at least 6,000 images.

Yesterday I did some head shots for a realtor friend I work with, usually photographing properties.
I moved my "studio" out to my deck so we could do the shoot in a safe manner without him needing to wear a mask.
We did some plain white backgrounds but I really liked the few we did with our local landmark, "W" Mountain in the background.

K-1ii & D FA 70-200/2.8 + Godox V1 in a 24" softbox camera left and a AD200 Pro in a 47" Octabox camera right.

Why on Earth would someone go to Luxembourg, or anywhere else in Europe, to sleep in New York?
Because it was the building in Rotterdam from which a lot of people boarded on a boat to flee the Europe in war, heading to New York.

I hope all who checked into the hotel made it to NYC safely.

And the last image in that set has stunning color and clarity

Really eye-catching, that one! There’s been past criticism of the FA*24, but I really like mine (how much in future may depend on the forthcoming DFA21, though. ).

Not that there needs to be more evidence that this is a great camera, but here are a couple hummingbird shots at med-high ISO from this now 5 year old camera and 55-300 DA L lens.

ISO 1600 and 3200
