The "smell" of spring ...

In our part of the world there are 2 distinct "smells" that are the ultimate proof that spring is here ...
One is the smell of yellow rape seed, a popular crop in our area,
and the other one is the smell of "Bärlauch" or wild garlic (Allium ursinum) which is growing everywhere in our forests.

Not spectacular images, but worth posting. K-1 with Sigma 70-300 APO DG.
A couple years ago, somebody in our village with a rabbit hutch let all their rabbits go. This is a rural area with fields and woods surrounding the village. It didn't take long for the domestic rabbits to start interbreeding with the wild rabbits. Unfortunately, the rabbits prefer living in town. Many are fairly approachable.
It had to happen sooner or later, a pair living amongst the homes within a couple hundred feet has produced a clutch of six offspring under our front porch. Like the others, they have no true innate fear of people. I'm sure we will have to relocate them in the coming weeks before we have 20 bunnies hopping around the yard. Meanwhile, I purchased the Sigma zoom used a few weeks ago and this was a fair test.
