Everything has to align. The way the bird is positioned to the lens so both head and feathers are in focus. That one was definitely the best of about 60.
They are really cute. White Throated Sparrows are the "Oh Canada" bird in that the song sounds a bit like " Oh my Canada da-da da-da " These guys are trying, but they only get the "Oh my" right, and struggle with the rest. Who knew young birds had to learn to sing the song? Hopefully they get it right eventually.
I throw seed into the shrubbery for them. They love foraging around under the cover of dense bushes. So I see the numbers when they come and go. But I usually can't see more than 2 or 3 at a time even though the bushes are moving from the foraging of the others as they make their way through them.
