They are however the aviation purist out there will scoff at the Me-109 description and keep going it's a Hispano 1112A. It is actually both, Spain built 109's under license from Germany (designated as Hispano 1112A Buchon) during the war and continue to fly them after the war. but they could not get the Daimler-Benz 605 engines and were using Merlin engines which required the larger lower engine cowling on the 109. This particular aircraft was built in Germany in early 1943 and shipped to Spain. So, both designations are accurate. The plane is painted as the aircraft the German ace Gen. Adolph Galland flew during the war.

The landing gear was lit with small led light lights and one of the photographers ran around both aircraft painting both with another led light panel.

Beautiful photos of these beautiful planes! The merlin ruins the 109 lines to me but it is still an original warbird
