Originally posted by Bruzer During the new moon in the beginning of April, I went up to Brasstown Bald, (the highest point in Georgia, USA at 4784 ft above sea level and lowest level of light pollution in N Ga) to shoot Star Trails and see if I cold get the Milky Way. Apparently it was too early for the Milky Way but I got this shot of Star Trails. Someone flew a drone while my star trails shot was in progress
. This was a 55 minute shoot and I used the composite function of the K-1ii. The fire lookout tower on top of the mountain is just visible at the bottom of the shot as a very small silhouette. I used a Rokinon 14mm lens.
Nice! The wife & I visited there before Covid a few years ago, rented a cabin in Hiawasee, loved every minute and want to go back soon!
Thanks for the memory and shot. I took a couple of night shots out the back of the cabin, as light pollution is so bad normally at home. I almost forgot about my Tokina... I need to take it along more often, it's a handy range to carry along and a decent lens. I think it was usurped by my Soligor 20mm, heh.

The lookout from Brasstown Bald is pretty cool during daylight too...

Dang, I really want to go back now... only we need to rent something more fun for all those twisty mountain roads than my Honda Pilot this time. LOL! Do they rent Lambo's?
