Thanks, I know there are some options, my line of thinking at the moment is a D FA 24-70 f2.8 as a walk about lens (shock!).

I like the smooth transition on the first shot Frederic... seems like a lot of DOF for F2 on a 25mm extension tube, I thought it would be razor thin... or are those really tiny plants? Just curious.

Oh, and of course love the flare and colors on the Soligor shot.

And it will take a CPL, essential really. Yes I have clocked it. I just don't want to keep changing lenses I think.

Yes, mountain flowers are always small... I was often at F5.6 when there was enough light...
