Looks to be a winner and I hope to find my way to the holy grail of Pentax photographers' shopping locations, the Pentax store in Tokyo, during April to take a close look at one.

Digging deeper in the the Ricoh K-1 web pages, its apparent that there's a whole heap of interesting new features lurking within in the K-1 that suggest much thought has gone into Pentax's first full frame dSLR.

A new "baby" is arriving soon to the World, Hallelujah!
Magic still happens not just in the dreams.
I will be holding one in my hands soon.
Thank you Pentax, thank you Ricoh for delivering a new fantastic "kid" into the Pentax Family.
Thank you Pentaxians for waiting and believing.......

Thank you so much for bringing out such a fine camera. I put in my order for one as soon as I saw its specs. It was a long wait but it was worth it.

Hats off to a team put together after ten years where such a product was on the agenda. May you have enough success to justify adding a pricier, even more advanced model to sit beneath the 645Z.

This camera is the reason I've held off adding a 645d to go with my 645z! Glad I waited looking forward to getting mine 👏👏

I'd love a 24mp FF with higher burst rate and top notch low-light capabilities, but still... Thanks a lot Ricoh for this great camera, at an ever greater price!!

I shot my first Pentax in 1975. Through the years with every new technology and innovation, which required some manufacturers to change their mounts and leave the past lenses behind like Canon and Minolta (Sony), Pentax has persisted and embraced the new, while maintaining a strong grip on their legacy. And now with the K-1, we have come full circle, by creating a camera that cherishes its past while welcoming in the new. I can now shoot with both my APS-C lenses and my FF lenses with equal ease, giving me the best of both worlds. Outstanding job, Ricoh/Pentax.

Already, this camera is provoking a lot of catty and patronizing remarks from the Canikon contingient, a group of people who can understand why Pentax remains and persists. they makes these remarks even though most haven't seen or touched the camera. What does that mean, really?

It means they know the K-1 is a real blockbuster, and they feel threatened. And it means Pentax did an amazing job in building the K-1. Great job, Pentax, great job. In my 41st year of using Pentax, we at last have our holy grail of DSLRs.

And thank you.

My thanks is my pre-ordering a camera that 6 months ago, I had no interest in.

Seriously, my K-3 is a better camera than I'll ever need, but when I saw the features of the K-1, including the option of using all my DA lenses, coupled with a price I believe to be a real bargain, I just couldn't resist.

So thank you Ricoh, not only for bringing us this camera, but for leaving it a Pentax as well.

Thank you Ricoh
I have a number of Full Frame lenses ready to go.
Hurry up and post it on your Australian Site so I can order my K1 please!
The K1 is now listed on Pentax.com.au for pre-sale at AUD$2899 - a little bit cheaper than US pricing, especially once you factor in shipping. :-)

I echo the thanks to Ricoh for delivering. I have my pre-order in and I'll be investing in new FF lenses as well. I do think they have done it right by pricing it competitively and innovating on unique features vs trying to be too many things to too many people. I have used K3ii with pixel shift several times and under the right circumstances it makes an impressive difference. I think the advances in PS will make it usable in a far greater range of situations. Can't wait to get my hands on it!
