I had intended to fly to Iceland for a photo safari in May. However, I've postponed this trip until October so I'll be sure to be able to take along a K1 .

Ricoh UK reckon first shipments should reach dealers around 25th April. How many of those will be available to buy for someone walking in off the street I have no idea but I suspect few if any because hasn't the entire first allocation now sold out? My guess is that Pentax are about to experience what they experienced with the 645Z when demand considerably exceeded their expectations.

Jonlg
I was with my UK dealer today (SRS Watford) and he was also expecting 25th April or next day. He also told me how many of the first batch are still available. Not sure that he wants it broadcast but there is still time to order and get one in about ten days time.

If the deed is already done...
I would choose to go at the time of year I favored and regardless of camera in hand (as long as I had a reasonably capable camera..). I haven't been to Iceland in October but I imagine there will be a different feel to things in October when compared to May. I feel there is a difference between June and August... There is a drastic difference between JUN & DEC, of course, and October is a ways along that continuum..

My live album is 24 yrs old... I was rockin' happy..
Now wondering where the last 17 yrs went :^(
