Newbie question for using 645 lenses

Hi Guys,

Being an "expecting" Pentaxian coming from a Canon world for over a decade; I am trying to get my head around all the lens possibilities that can be used on the K1. I get the vignette with the Crop lenses, but what about going the other way?

Can we use 645 lenses on the K1 with some sort of adapter? I am assuming this should be possible because of the much deep flange distance of the 645 system.

Yes. Pentax 645 mount to Pentax K mount adapters are readily available on eBay. Also Pentax 67 to Pentax K mount adapters are available.

Pentax still mentions these adapters in their Lenses and Accessories catalogues but you will find it hard to order a new one from a shop, which is why eBay is a good source for these adapters.

REMEMBER - The lenses will be manual focus, and will work with stop-down metering. There are no linkages in the adapters to convey lens aperture setting to the camera.

So unless one already has 645 lenses, the applications are perhaps limited... I was hoping to look into speedbooster type adapters that would increase available light, or narrow the DoF...
