LOL - I speak from ignorance - I have never shot it. I speak in theory. I have a DA 40 but have not had the pleasure of the 43.

I'd semi-agree. On APS-C the FA43 is a bit of an odd duck. On the K-1 though, it's a lens I've really enjoyed using these past few days: https://flic.kr/s/aHskzgd36p

Precisely by virtue of its effective focal length in APS-C (65mm), the FA43 has permitted me an excellent "close-up take" of the world around me, which constitutes a major portion of my photographic vision.

And now with the K-1 Full-frame, well, we get to see the world via a true normal field-of-view, and with FA43 Limited rendering - the way Jun Hirakawa envisioned it. I can imagine the possibilities....

The FA77 on Full-frame would offer a roughly similar take, but the rendering is subtly different. Doesn't make it better or worse, just different. And of course, the 77 is a portraiture telephoto par excellence.
