My first day with the K-1

I have uploaded a bunch of images to Flickr taken during the day with various lenses.

My initial thoughts are that I will probably not use my K-3 at all from now on.
The AF is faster, the ergonomics are good, the Live View button is placed where my fingers belive that play back is so I start Live View alot, it is heavy, the IQ is really, really good, the Pentax 1.4x TC gives dark corners when used with the 150-450 but with the 10-17 or 16-50 it works just fine. Maybe a little dark corners on the 16-50... Don't remeber right now...

Well:

Click on the images for some enlargement and click to the left for the K-1 images.

Have fun!

Can you please point me to the sample pic taken with 16-50? It could be an amazing news.

Nice pictures. How much percent of sharpening did you apply to these pictures?

Pfffuu, that a step up from my K3. Can't believe the sharpness you get out of the DFA150-450.

I always put arround 85% in Camera RAW. More depending on the subject. Less if high ISO.

Pentax K-1 Test image 23 and Pentax K-1 Test image 24 added.

You can see the dark corners created by the TC+16-50

Thank you Tjompen1968 for the pics.

Do the dark corners become worse without the 1.4x TC? What about stopping down, let say, to f 8?

Without the TC you will have alot of vignetting, that's why I tested with the TC. If stopping down I still have dark corners.

Hello Tjompen,
You have some beautiful images coming from your new K1. I wandered to the right in your photostream ...makes me homesick. I Left Eskilstuna 60 years ago.

My immediate impression of several of the photos was that they are oversharpened. I know it is a matter of personal taste, but you might want to scale back a little.

You are correct. I took one image and copied the settings.
