I think the D FA will walk circles around the A lens, except (obviously) in terms of build quality. I can test this once I receive the 28-105mm. When I tested it on the pre-production K-1 is was pretty darn impressive.
Here are some pics I just snapped with the Takumar-A 70-200mm F4. It happened to arrive at the same time as my K-1, so I used it to take some inaugural shots...before I post it on the marketplace as a freebie.
Bottom line: it's better to use good lenses on a cheap camera than the other way around
