When was YOUR camera made?

Ok. Shipping confirmations are now getting old. It might be interesting to see how long our camera has been in production. The PF shutter count utility will give you the date of manufacture. Mine was made on 2016-4-20. So two weeks from birth to delivery.

Where can one find the "PF shutter count utility"?

It is also interesting to look at the serial number database for a camera or lens. There were already 8 K-1's listed a/o this Post. Based on the number sequence and info from the OP I probably don't even need to check to know what day mine was assembled.*

The range of serials entered is 11,401, which might indicate something or other. There appears to be a geographic pattern. The numbers do appear sequential.

* [EDIT]: Purchased May 4, 2016 from retail store stock.
File was IMGP0001.jpg.

Yes, this is interesting. We will need to wait for a larger sample but it does appear that both the initial numbers of the serial number and the manufacture date are related to the shipping destination. That probably makes sense since they will include different material for different languages and distributors. I hope more people will share their information here and in the serial number database.
